Compatible with OpenDocument Format
DeltaXML ODT Merge was originally developed to allow multiple lawyers to work on very large documents simultaneously. No longer is it necessary to divide a large document up and have all the problems associated with merging it back into one again. You can allow several authors to work on separate copies of the original and merge them all back together automatically.
DeltaXML ODT Merge generates standard OpenDocument (ODT) output:
- Identifies changes in multiple documents against a base version of the document and merges these into one document
- Allows accept/reject of the changes (within the limitations of ODF change tracking)
- Shows changes made by each author for each paragraph/list/table in the document
- Integrates with OpenOffice.org or any compatible application using ODT format
DeltaXML ODT Compare has been developed primarily with OpenOffice.org but many other applications also support ODT including:
- OpenOffice.org
- Sun StarOffice
- IBM Lotus Symphony
- GoogleDocs
- Novell OpenOffice
- WordPerfect Office X4
- AbiWord
- KOffice
- Mac OS X NeoOffice
- Mac OS X Leopard TextEdit
Advanced merge features providing extra benefits
DeltaXML ODT Merge enables ways of working that are not possible using the standard features of OpenOffice.org:
- shows changes made by each author separately in greyed-out sections for easy understanding
- merges the changes, and detects where two or more authors have deleted the same words
- generates tracked-changes so the document owner can accept or reject each change
- handles large documents (several hundred pages) provided memory is available
When you have finished accepting and rejecting changes in the document, you simply select a menu function 'Finalize document' to automatically accept any remaining changes and remove all the greyed-out sections which do not belong in the final document.
Integrate with your publishing system
DeltaXML ODT Merge has a comprehensive Java API for seamless integration with your existing Content Management System (CMS) or other applications.
