DeltaXML ODT Compare
| Status from October 2011: This product is not currently available(see 'Buy' tab for more details)DeltaXML ODT Compare reads two ODT documents and generates a new ODT document which shows the changes between the two input documents. It is like OpenOffice.org 'Compare Documents' but it works on the underlying XML and identifies change in more areas than other comparison software. DeltaXML ODT Compare was developed to handle large, legal documents where it is critical that every change to the text is shown accurately. In particular, it shows changes in individual cells within tables. The comparison result is designed to show the changes, using text highlighting, and is not intended to be used for accept/reject changes. The reason for this is that ODT is not able to represent changes in many areas and so these cannot be shown using the tracked change mechanism, they can only be shown by highlighting. If you want to accept or reject the changes, then try the DeltaXML ODT Merge product. DeltaXML ODT Compare has been designed to work with OpenOffice.org, but as it operates on the underlying XML, it can be used with any application that generates the Open Document format (usually such files have an extension .odt). A free extension is provided for use within OpenOffice.org, and a Java API is available for integration into Content Management Systems (CMS) or other applications. |
