October 24, 2011 18:30DeltaXML Core 6.2

DeltaXML would like to announce release 6.2 of our DeltaXML Core toolkit.

Changes in this release include a new GUI tool for running comparison pipelines (DXP files).

This tool has closer operating system integration than our previous Java-Swing GUI tool and we have introduced some further plaform specific distribution downloads (such as for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS) for this release. Another new feature is a side-by-side difference report available in the GUI and command-line tools and also for integration/extension in customer systems.

Full details of the release, including some bug-fixes are available in the release notes:

http://www.deltaxml.com/core/6.2/docs/release-notes.html

Please use one of the four tabs on our download page:

http://www.deltaxml.com/products/core/download.html

The new release is available to users with current maintenance contracts and also for evaluation to registered users of our website. Users with support or maintenance contracts, who have not migrated to the new release/downloads site, please contact us for a purchase key.

Thanks,

June 11, 2008 12:31DeltaXML Core 5.0
DeltaXML Core 5.0 is now available.  This is a major new release
with these features:

  - A new delta format (''deltaV2'') which is easier to
      process with XSLT/XPath/XQuery.

  - New filters and some new pipelines, particularly
      suited to document-centric XML.

  - Some API-level changes, including some new methods,
      improved error/exception handling and API
house-keeping including the removal of some
      previously deprecated features.

Further details are provided in the release notes:

   http://www.deltaxml.com/core/current/docs/release-notes.html

While this release defaults to use the new delta format, the old
format is still available through a feature setting.  We would
encourage existing users to upgrade to the new format and filters.
However, support for users who wish to continue to use deltaV1
and the current filters is available via a ''Filter Compatibility Pack''
or ''FCP''.  For more information:

   http://www.deltaxml.com/library/filter-migration.html
   http://www.deltaxml.com/library/downloads.html

The feature-walkthroughs, sandboxes, online services and technical
documentation on the DeltaXML website have been updated to support this
release.  The following link provides an index to the documentation:

   http://www.deltaxml.com/library/index.html

Enterprise release customers with current support contracts can request
a Core 5.0 build be prepared and made available at their download area.

Evaluations of DeltaXML Core 5.0 are available to registered users of
the DeltaXML website.  We have reset all user records so that even if
you have previously had an evaluation you can now request a new
evaluation activation key for 5.0.  These can be used with the
5.0 download available from the website (after registered-user login).

Named-user and Professional-server customers with annual maintenance
will shortly receive their new activation keys via email.

As always, feedback is welcome via the website support forums or
via our usual support channels for enterprise customers.

December 19, 2007 10:33DeltaXML Core version 4.5
The DeltaXML Core 4.5 release is now available.

There are a couple of small enhancements, but the major change in this release is associated with the licensing/activation code.  The previous code introduced in 4.3 and refined in 4.4 while generally correct and bug-free did activate or ''expose'' a number of bugs/issues in various JVMs and API libraries.  This release preserves the activation model and the different categories of license we previously introduced (named-user, professional-server and enterprise), but provides a new implementation which reduces our ''exposure'' to platform bugs/limitations.

One consequence of this change is that 4.5 license keys can no longer be used with version 4.4 and earlier releases.

See the release notes for further details/links:

http://www.deltaxml.com/core/4.5/docs/release-notes.html#r4.5

As usual, this release is available for registered users on our website (now with evaluations for named-user or professional-server keys) and to enterprise license customers with support contracts via their usual download mechanisms.

Cheers,

Nigel

September 3, 2007 15:04DeltaXML Core 4.4
A new core release is available.

Highlights of this release include:
- Performance improvements with the combination of enhanced match 1 and keying
- a derivative matcher: enhanced match 2
- A new document-centric output filter designed to deal with mismatched common words such as ''and'', ''the'', ''is'' etc. surrounded by differenced words.
- URIResolver and EntityResolver support in command.jar (useful for docbook processing)

See the release notes for further details/links:

http://www.deltaxml.com/core/4.4/docs/release-notes.html#r4.4

This release is now available for registered users on our website (evaluation and named-user/professional-server) keys
and to enterprise-server customers with support contracts via their usual download mechanisms.

One issue to be aware of: we fixed a bug (actually in 4.3.6) related to using DeltaXML in the Alfresco CMS - a clash of license-managers and Classloaders.  This fix unfortunately required a change to our activation/license key format.  Version 4.4 and later licenses will require a version 4.4 download ZIP or later.  For this upgrade, version 4.4 activation keys will not work with earlier downloads.

Cheers,

Nigel

March 29, 2007 11:44DeltaXML Core 4.3
A new release to support our new pricing and licensing models with the associated use of license keys and activation procedures.

Otherwise it is similar to the 4.2.x releases.

As always, comments, suggestions, bug-reports are always welcome.
