Changes to Text Data

In this section we see how changes to text are represented in the unidelta format. Where a text item is unchanged across the three documents, it appears as it normally would in the documents. When a change occurs, the text is wrapped in a new element dxu:PCDATA to show the two versions.

The examples show how this works:

  • click ORIGINAL EXAMPLE to return to the original values, which are the same in all three documents.
  • click MODIFY TEXT IN C to change text in document C, note two dxu:PCDATA elements appear in place of the original text to show the original and the changed text, no data is lost.
  • click MODIFY TEXT IN B to change the text also in Document B, note a third dxu:PCDATA element appears with the text for B in it.

Change the text in Document B or Document C to see how the unidelta changes.
