Comparison Service Technology

At the heart of the service is the DeltaXML Core comparison engine.  This is used in conjunction with a number of DXP pipeline configurations and associated filters to provide facilities to process either generic/well-formed XML data or specific XML grammars.

The DXP configurations and the associated pre/post comparison filters used here are also included as sample files in the SDK download (although the differing release schedules means that new filters may be released here, on the comparison service, prior to the next SDK release).  The same configurations are available in the SDK for use with a command-line driver (command.jar) and also a GUI tool (deltawing.jar).

The DXP mechanism can also be embedded in end-user applications; please see the DXPConfiguration class in the DeltaXML Core Javadoc.

Please consider registering and requesting an SDK evaluation to test out using this technology running locally on your hardware and also to investigate how it could be embedded in your applications/processes.

The service is delivered using the NetKernel microkernel/RESTful application server from 1060 Research. This provides an application framework to support the AJAX code which enables the interactive updates to the delta results as edits are made.

XML parsing is through Apache Xerces-J and XSLT processing uses Saxon-B from Saxonica.
