DeltaXML announces version 2.0 of its market leading Sync product
In January 2007 DeltaXML released version 2.0 of its three-way synchronisation product DeltaXML Sync. Released as version 2.1 the new product has been significantly re-engineered since the original release of version 1.0 in 2004.
Robin La Fontaine, founder and CEO of DeltaXML Ltd, said "This new version of DeltaXML Sync will make software architects' lives much easier when it comes to handling simultaneous changes in two or more versions of any XML document set. Our tool will allow publishers to reduce copy preparation time by enabling concurrent editing, where a document can now be reviewed and edited simultaneously by two different authors. DeltaXML Sync is already proving invaluable to software companies in updating configuration files during software updates."
New to DeltaXML Sync 2.1 is increased flexibility in managing software configuration file updates. A typical problem for software houses is that their customer will customise the configuration file for their own use. So when a new release and a new configuration file is produced the customer has the dilemma of working out what has changed in the new version from the old one and how this corresponds with their own customisations. Sync 2.1 will take all three files (the original, the vendor's update and the customer's existing copy) and identify where changes need to be made for the particular customer's deployment. This can be a significant benefit in complex installations.
DeltaXML Sync 2.1 is available as a software developer's kit to integrate into any Java-based XML application. The generic nature of the tool means that it can be adapted for use in XML editors, large publishing systems, software configuration management tools, database synchronisation pipelines and even translation engines.
If you would like to trial DeltaXML Sync for yourself please either try the demos on the website or or request an evaluation copy.
